description 181 Eucharis Overview

181 Eucharis is a minor planet in the main asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. French astronomer Henri Perrotin discovered it in 1878, and its name refers to Eucharis, a nymph associated with François Fénelon's 1699 novel Les Aventures de Télémaque. It is one of the numbered asteroids catalogued during the early period of modern asteroid discovery.
