Atari 5200

description Atari 5200 Overview

The Atari 5200, also sold as the 5200 SuperSystem, is a home video game console introduced by Atari in 1982. It was designed as a higher-end successor or complement to the Atari 2600 and used hardware related to Atari's 8-bit computers, including the Atari 400 and 800. Its distinctive controllers combined an analog joystick with a numeric keypad and pause button, supporting more than the fixed directional input of many earlier console controllers. It is primarily of interest to retro-gaming and video game history audiences.
