How many pieces does each player get in Blokus?

Each player starts with 21 polyomino pieces in one color. The pieces have different shapes, from single-square forms to larger multi-square pieces.

What is the main placement rule in Blokus?

A player's new piece must touch another piece of the same color at a corner, while pieces of that color may not share an edge. Pieces of different colors may touch along edges and corners.

How many people can play Blokus?

The standard Blokus board game supports two to four players. Each player tries to place as many of their 21 colored pieces as possible before the board becomes too crowded.

How does a player win Blokus?

When no more legal moves remain, players score the squares left in their racks, so unused pieces count against them. The player with the highest final score wins, which rewards using difficult large pieces instead of saving them until the end.
