description Boxhole Overview
Boxhole is a relatively young meteorite impact crater in Australia’s Northern Territory. The crater is about 170 meters in diameter and remains comparatively well preserved, allowing its circular form to be recognized clearly in the surrounding terrain. Shatter cones, rock structures produced by intense shock from an impact, are associated with the site and provide additional evidence of its origin.
