description Broomball Overview
Broomball is a team sport played on an ice rink in ordinary footwear rather than ice skates. Players use broom-shaped sticks to move a ball and try to score in the opposing goal, giving the game a relationship to ice hockey while using different equipment and movement. The sport is associated with Canada and is played recreationally and competitively in several countries. A documented Canadian game took place in Perdue, Saskatchewan, in 1909.
