Buddleja davidii

description Buddleja davidii Overview

Buddleja davidii, commonly called butterfly bush, is a deciduous flowering shrub native to central China. The species was named after the French missionary and botanist Armand David, who collected plants in China. It is cultivated for its fragrant flower clusters, which attract butterflies and other insects, but it has escaped cultivation and become invasive in parts of Europe and North America. Its status therefore differs by region.
