Bustamite is a calcium manganese silicate mineral belonging to the pyroxenoid group. It may occur in pale pink, rose, gray, or brownish material and is named after Anastasio Bustamante, a Mexican general and statesman. Franklin, New Jersey, is one of its notable localities, and specimens from such deposits are collected for their mineral associations, color, and crystal form.
