Curtis is an American newspaper comic strip created by Ray Billingsley and launched in 1988. It follows Curtis Payne, an African American boy growing up in an urban neighborhood, along with his family, friends, and community. The strip uses everyday situations, school life, family relationships, and social observation as sources of humor, while presenting the experiences of a Black middle-class and working-class community.
