Dark dagger moth

description Dark dagger moth Overview

The Dark dagger moth, Acronicta tridens, is a nocturnal moth in the family Noctuidae. It occurs across Europe and in parts of temperate Asia, where its caterpillars feed on the foliage of deciduous plants. Adults resemble the closely related Grey dagger moth, Acronicta psi, so the two species can be difficult to separate by appearance alone and may require examination of diagnostic features.
