Double Chess

description Double Chess Overview

Double Chess is a large-board chess variant in which each player controls two complete sets of standard chess pieces. The version described by the 16x8 format places two ordinary 8x8 playing areas side by side, doubling the width of the board and the amount of material in play. The extra armies create a wider opening position and require rules for how the two kings, checks, captures, and checkmate interact, so exact play depends on the variant's ruleset.
