description Five-Card Option Overview
Five-Card Option is a home-poker name for a form of five-card stud played high-low with an added twist round. Each player receives one concealed card followed by four exposed cards, with betting rounds as the hand develops. In the option round, a player may replace one card, normally exchanging a downcard for another downcard or an upcard for another upcard, then takes part in a further betting round. The exact hand-ranking and low-hand rules are house matters.
