Forsythia

description Forsythia Overview

Forsythia is a genus of deciduous shrubs native to East Asia and named after the Scottish botanist William Forsyth. Its flowers are typically bright yellow and open on the previous year's bare stems before the new leaves appear, producing an early-spring display. The plants are cultivated in gardens for this flowering habit and for their arching branches. After flowering, they develop green foliage for the rest of the growing season.
