description Gardnos Overview

Gardnos is a meteorite impact crater near Nesbyen in Buskerud, Norway. It is about five kilometers wide and formed approximately 546 million years ago, near the transition between the Precambrian and Cambrian periods. The site contains impact-related rocks and breccias, and it is used to explain how a major impact altered the local bedrock and landscape.
