description GraviTrax Overview

GraviTrax is a modular marble-run construction system introduced by Ravensburger in 2017. Users assemble track pieces, tiles, and action elements, then test how gravity, speed, and route design affect a marble's movement through the course. It is intended for children, families, and hobbyists who enjoy hands-on construction and basic physics concepts, with the open-ended layout making each build a design problem.

help GraviTrax FAQ

What ages is GraviTrax suitable for?

Ravensburger recommends GraviTrax for ages 8 and up, and the STEM-focused design genuinely keeps adults engaged too. Because the steel marbles pose a choking hazard, it is not suitable for children under 3.

How many pieces come in the GraviTrax Starter Set?

The Starter Set contains 122 pieces, including base plates, tracks, tiles, and basic action elements to build a wide range of layouts. Additional expansion sets like the hammer, magnetic cannon, and zipline extend the system further.

Is there a GraviTrax app?

Yes, Ravensburger offers a free GraviTrax app for iOS and Android that lets kids design and virtually test track layouts. The app also includes puzzle tasks and building instructions that can then be recreated with the physical set.

What expansion sets work with the GraviTrax Starter Set?

All GraviTrax components are designed to be compatible, including extension packs like Trax, Bridges, and Tunnels plus action elements such as the catapult, hammer, and jump. The later GraviTrax PRO line adds taller walls and vertical building elements that connect to the original base system.
