Hambergite is a rare beryllium borate mineral first described in 1883 by the Norwegian mineralogist W. C. Brøgger. It was named for the Swedish geographer Axel Hamberg.

The mineral is usually colorless or pale and is known for strong optical properties, including high birefringence; transparent gem-quality material has been reported from Norway and Madagascar and is of interest to mineral collectors.
