description Högsbyåsen Overview
Högsbyåsen is a glaciofluvial esker in Kalmar County, Sweden, formed from sand and gravel deposited by meltwater beneath or near a former ice sheet. Its permeable sediments allow water to move through the ridge and contribute to local groundwater storage and flow. The formation is therefore relevant both to Quaternary geology and to the study and management of water supplies in Småland.
