Lance Macklin (1919-2002) was a British racing driver who competed in 15 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, making his debut in the 1952 Swiss Grand Prix and his final championship appearance in the 1955 British Grand Prix. He raced for HWM and as a privateer, and also competed in sports-car events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished fifth in 1950 with George Abecassis. Macklin was involved in the 1955 Le Mans disaster while driving an Austin-Healey 100S.
