Le Samyn

description Le Samyn Overview

Le Samyn is a Belgian one-day road race in Hainaut province, traditionally associated with the cobbled roads and tactics of northern European classics. The race's first edition was held in 1968; it is named in memory of Belgian cyclist José Samyn, who won it and died during a race in 1969. The event has also been known as the Samyn Classic in recent branding, while Le Samyn remains a common historical name. Unlike a stage race, it produces one winner from a single day's route.
