description Long Wavelength Array Overview

The Long Wavelength Array is a radio telescope located near Socorro, New Mexico, and operated as part of the infrastructure associated with the Very Large Array site. Its many antenna elements observe radio emission at frequencies from about 10 to 88 MHz. The array is used to study low-frequency phenomena including solar activity, the ionosphere, cosmic radio sources, and short-lived radio transients.
