description Morganite Overview
Morganite is a pink to peach variety of beryl, the same mineral family that includes emerald and aquamarine. Its color is commonly associated with traces of manganese, and its transparency and pastel tones make it a gemstone used in cut jewelry. George Kunz gave the variety its name in 1911 in honor of financier J. P.
Morgan; important sources have included Madagascar and Brazil.
