Noname has released two full-length projects: "Telefone" in 2016 and "Room 25" in 2018, both critically acclaimed for their poetic lyricism and soulful, jazz-influenced production. "Room 25" in particular received widespread critical praise and appeared on numerous year-end best-of lists. She has also released standalone singles and teased additional projects.

Noname, born Fatimah Warner, began performing at open mic nights in Chicago's poetry slam scene before transitioning into music. Her background in spoken word heavily shapes the conversational, rhythmic delivery heard throughout "Telefone" and "Room 25." She was part of Chicago's creative circles alongside artists like Chance the Rapper and Saba before releasing her own music.

The Noname Book Club is an organization she founded that highlights books by authors of color, focusing on topics related to radical politics, Black liberation, and anti-capitalism. The club curates monthly reading selections and organizes mutual aid efforts to provide books to incarcerated people. It reflects the politically engaged themes present throughout her music.

Noname was featured on the track "Lost" from Chance the Rapper's 2013 mixtape "Acid Rap," which introduced her to a much wider audience. Her verse on that song helped build anticipation for her eventual solo debut. She has also collaborated with artists like Saba, Ravyn Lenae, and Phoelix on various projects.
