Pre-Chess

description Pre-Chess Overview

Pre-Chess is a chess variant in which the players arrange their own back-rank pieces before ordinary chess play begins. Players take turns placing the pieces during a setup phase, after which the game proceeds using standard chess movement and capture rules. The opening position is therefore determined by player choices rather than by the fixed arrangement used in conventional chess.
