Sam Tingle was a Rhodesian racing driver who competed in Formula One during the 1960s as a privateer, entering the South African Grand Prix on several occasions. He drove cars of the LDS marque, a South African-built design derived from contemporary Cooper and later Brabham chassis, racing against visiting works teams. Tingle was among the small group of Rhodesian drivers to reach Grand Prix racing from southern African circuits, alongside contemporaries such as John Love and Clive Puzey.
