description Sh2-126 Overview
Sh2-126 is a large, faint emission-nebula complex in the constellation Lacerta and is catalogued in Stewart Sharpless's second catalogue of H II regions. Its hydrogen gas is ionized chiefly by ultraviolet radiation from 10 Lacertae, an O-type star associated with the Lacerta OB1 stellar group. Because the nebula covers a broad area of sky and has low surface brightness, it is principally a target for wide-field, long-exposure astrophotography.
