Slippery Jack

description Slippery Jack Overview

Slippery Jack is the common name for Suillus luteus, a bolete associated mainly with pine trees in Europe and other regions where pines grow. Its brown cap has a sticky or slimy surface, especially in damp conditions, and the underside bears pores rather than gills. The species is regarded as edible when properly prepared, although the cap skin is often removed because of its texture.
