Spawn is a 1997 American superhero film directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé and based on the Image Comics character created by Todd McFarlane. Michael Jai White plays Al Simmons, a government assassin who is murdered, makes a bargain in Hell, and returns to Earth as the Hellspawn known as Spawn. The film follows his conflict with demonic forces and his former employer, with John Leguizamo and Martin Sheen in major supporting roles.
