Springer, also designated A73, is a female killer whale of the Northern Resident community in the northeastern Pacific. In 2002, she was found alone and in poor condition near Seattle, identified through photographs and acoustic comparison, and transported to northern British Columbia. She was released near the area used by her natal relatives and later joined the A36 group, making the case a documented example of a rescued wild orca returning to its social community.
