description Strum Group Overview
Strum Group, or Gruppo STRUM, was an Italian Radical Design collective formally founded in Turin in 1971 by Giorgio Cerretti, Pietro Derossi, Riccardo Rosso, Carlo Gianmarco, and Maurizio Vogliazzo. The group treated architecture and design as instruments of social and political participation, challenging the functionalist assumptions of International Style practice. It exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art's 1972 show Italy: The New Domestic Landscape and developed experimental objects, including designs produced with Gufram.
