SwimRun

description SwimRun Overview

Swimrun is a multisport endurance discipline that involves continuous alternating stages of open-water swimming and trail running. Athletes typically compete in teams of two and must carry all of their equipment, such as wetsuits, hand paddles, and pull buoys, throughout the entire race without transitioning. The modern sport originated in Sweden from a wager in 2002, which eventually led to the formalization of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship in 2006. Today, numerous swimrun events are organized globally across varying terrain and distances.
