description Tsuro Overview
Tsuro is a tile-placement board game designed by Tom McMurchie and first published in 2005. Players place tiles showing intersecting paths, then move their markers along the resulting routes while trying to remain on the board and avoid collisions with other markers. Its shared board supports up to eight participants, and its rules make it accessible to families and casual groups while still requiring spatial planning.
help Tsuro FAQ
How many people can play Tsuro, and how long does a game take?
The current Calliope Games edition supports 2 to 8 players and is intended for ages 8 and up. Calliope lists a typical playing time of 15 to 20 minutes.
What do you do on a turn in Tsuro?
A player places and rotates a path tile in front of their marker, then follows the connected path. Each player begins with 3 tiles in hand, so the choice changes both their own route and any route joined to it.
How do you win Tsuro?
You are eliminated if your path carries your marker off the board or into another marker. The last player remaining on the board wins, and Calliope's standard set includes 8 movement markers.
Who designed Tsuro, and what is in the box?
Tom McMurchie designed Tsuro, which first appeared in 2005 and is now published by Calliope Games. The current box contains 35 path tiles, 1 board, 1 dragon tile, and 8 dragon movement markers.
