description WorldView-4 Overview
WorldView-4 was a commercial Earth-observation satellite operated by DigitalGlobe, the company later absorbed into Maxar. Launched in 2016, it collected high-resolution imagery from a polar, sun-synchronous orbit and was designed to provide panchromatic images with a ground sampling distance of about 0.31 metres. A failure of its control-moment gyroscopes in 2019 ended the spacecraft's imaging mission, permanently removing it from operational service.
