Martin OM-10E

The E suffix indicates the guitar ships from the factory with onboard electronics, i.e., a built-in pickup and preamp system for plugging into an amp or PA. This is Martin's standard naming convention, so the acoustic version of the same guitar simply drops the E.

The OM, or Orchestra Model, has a smaller, narrower waist than a Dreadnought, producing a more balanced response across strings rather than the Dread's bass-heavy boom. That balance, plus the more comfortable body sitting closer to the player, is why fingerstyle players have favored OM shapes for decades.

Yes, its compact Grand-Auditorium-style proportions make it noticeably lighter and less bulky than a full Dreadnought, which helps smaller-framed players and makes it a reasonable travel companion. It's still a full-scale guitar, so it projects more than a parlor or travel model.

Its emphasis on clarity and warmth makes it superb for fingerpicking, ballads, and singer-songwriter accompaniment where individual note definition matters. Strummers who want maximum volume and low-end drive usually still reach for a Dreadnought instead.
