Is Tile Mate a GPS tracker?

Tile Mate is primarily a Bluetooth tracker, not a standalone GPS device with cellular positioning. The Tile app can show the last known location and use the Tile network when another participating device detects the tag.

What is the Bluetooth range of Tile Mate?

Tile lists up to 250 feet of range for the 2022 Tile Mate under suitable conditions. Walls, radio interference, the phone model, and the tag’s orientation can reduce practical range.

Can the Tile Mate battery be replaced?

The 2022 Tile Mate uses a non-replaceable battery rated for about three years. Older Tile Mate generations, including some 2018 and 2020 models, have different battery designs, so check the model year before buying a replacement cell.

Can Tile Mate find keys when they are outside Bluetooth range?

The tag can ring when it is within Bluetooth range, while the Tile network can update its location when another Tile user’s device detects it. This is different from real-time GPS tracking because the tag has no cellular modem or independent GPS receiver.
