Shishapangma is a mountain massif in the Himalayas, located entirely within the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Its main summit stands at 8,027 meters (26,335 feet), making it the fourteenth-highest mountain in the world. Shishapangma is the only one of the 14 peaks exceeding 8,000 meters that lies wholly within the borders of China. It was the last of the 8,000-meter peaks to be climbed, with the first ascent achieved by a Chinese expedition led by Xu Jing on May 2, 1964.
