DALI OPTICON 6 MK2

The MK2 kept the 2.5-way floorstanding layout with two wood-fibre mid/bass drivers and DALI's hybrid tweeter module, which pairs a soft dome tweeter with a ribbon for the top end. DALI also continued using its SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) magnet material, technology borrowed from the more expensive RUBICON range, to reduce distortion in the mid/bass drivers.

It sits in the middle of the Danish brand's range, above the entry-level OBERON floorstanders and below the RUBICON series. That makes it a common step-up choice for listeners who outgrow budget DALI speakers but don't want to pay RUBICON prices.

They are a fairly easy drive, with sensitivity of around 88 dB, so modest amplifiers in the 30-100 W range generally work well. Like many DALI designs, the impedance dips toward 4 ohms in places, which favors amplifiers that are comfortable with lower-impedance loads.

Yes, like most DALI floorstanders they come with two pairs of binding posts, so you can bi-wire or bi-amp them if your amplifier setup supports it. They also ship with a plinth and spikes, plus protective feet for wooden floors, to decouple the Baltic birch ply cabinet from the floor.
