description Arase Overview

Arase, formerly known as the Exploration of Energization and Radiation in Geospace (ERG), is a Japanese scientific satellite operated by JAXA. Launched in 2016, it was designed to study the Earth's inner magnetosphere, including the Van Allen radiation belts and the processes that accelerate high-energy particles. Its instruments measure charged particles, plasma waves, and electric and magnetic fields. The mission is intended for research on wave-particle interactions and space-weather physics.
