Arnica

description Arnica Overview

Arnica is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the sunflower family, Asteraceae. Arnica montana, the species most associated with herbal preparations, is native to mountainous and upland regions of Europe and bears yellow, daisy-like flower heads. The plant contains sesquiterpene lactones and has traditionally been used in topical preparations for bruises, sprains, and muscle soreness. Arnica is not considered safe for routine internal use.
