Teasel

description Teasel Overview

Teasel is the common name for several species of the genus Dipsacus, biennial or short-lived perennial plants in the family Dipsacaceae. Native species occur across Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia, and the plants form tall stems topped by egg-shaped flower heads surrounded by spiny bracts. The dried heads of fuller's teasel were once used to raise the nap of wool fabrics, while other species are valued in dried-flower arrangements.
