Comstock Lode is a historical western novel by Louis L’Amour, published in 1981. Its title refers to the Comstock Lode, the major silver-mining district discovered in western Nevada during the nineteenth century. The novel uses the mining boom as its setting, presenting a fictional story shaped by prospecting, rapidly growing settlements, economic conflict, and the dangers associated with frontier life in Nevada.
