Corinth

description Corinth Overview

Corinth was an ancient Greek city-state situated on the Isthmus of Corinth, a strategic land bridge linking mainland Greece with the Peloponnese. Its position supported trade, travel, and political influence, while its wealth and religious importance are reflected in the archaeological remains of the city and the sixth-century BC Temple of Apollo. The later site also contains evidence of Roman occupation and reconstruction.
