The fiddler beetle, Eupoecila australasiae, is a flower chafer in the scarab family Scarabaeidae and is native to eastern Australia. Its yellow, cream, or brown wing covers bear contrasting dark markings that are commonly compared to the outline of a violin. Adults visit flowers and feed on nectar and pollen, while the larvae develop in decaying wood and other decomposing plant material, contributing to nutrient recycling.
