Front Hip Circle

description Front Hip Circle Overview

A front hip circle is a gymnastics skill performed on a bar, most commonly the uneven bars in women's artistic gymnastics. The gymnast rotates forward around the bar while keeping the hips in contact with or close to it, then finishes in a supported position on the bar. It is taught as a basic circling element and helps gymnasts practise bar support, body tension, grip control, and forward rotation; unlike a clear hip circle, it does not keep the hips clear of the bar.
