description Gnargoo Overview
Gnargoo is a possible buried impact structure on the Gascoyne Platform in the Southern Carnarvon Basin of Western Australia. It lies beneath about 500 meters of Cretaceous and younger sediments and is identified from seismic-reflection, gravity, and structural evidence. The proposed structure is about 75 kilometers across, with a buried dome and central uplift, and the event is constrained between deformed Lower Permian rocks and undeformed Lower Cretaceous strata.
