Greenmantle is a 1916 espionage and adventure novel by Scottish writer John Buchan and the second book centered on Richard Hannay. Set during the First World War, it follows Hannay and his companions on a mission through Europe and the Ottoman Empire to investigate a German effort to exploit religious and political unrest. The novel combines wartime intrigue, disguise, pursuit, and travel narrative.
