description Hazor Overview

Tel Hazor, also called Hazor, is an archaeological mound in northern Israel that preserves the remains of a large Canaanite city and later Israelite settlement. It occupied a strategic position on routes linking Egypt, Syria, and Mesopotamia, and its Bronze Age remains include fortifications, a palace, temples, and administrative buildings. Hazor forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage property Biblical Tels: Megiddo, Hazor, Beer Sheba.
