Kebira

description Kebira Overview

Kebira is a proposed meteorite impact structure in the Sahara near the border between Egypt and Libya. Remote-sensing images show a large circular landform reported to be about 31 kilometers across, and this shape has been interpreted as evidence of an impact event. The structure is less firmly established than well-studied confirmed craters, so claims about its exact age and impact origin should be treated with caution. It is identified mainly from satellite imagery.
