Knock John

description Knock John Overview

Knock John is a sandbank in the outer Thames Estuary off the coast of southeastern England. During the Second World War, the Knock John naval sea fort was constructed there as part of the Maunsell fort system used to defend shipping routes and the Thames approaches from German aircraft. The surviving offshore structure consists of concrete towers connected above the waterline by a platform.
