Least Skipper

description Least Skipper Overview

The Least Skipper (Ancyloxypha numitor) is a small butterfly in the skipper family Hesperiidae and subfamily Hesperiinae. It occurs in much of eastern North America, including parts of the United States and Canada, where it is associated with wet meadows, marshes, ditches, and other grassy places. Adults are usually seen flying close to vegetation rather than soaring high above it.
