description Sachem Overview

Atalopedes campestris, commonly called the Sachem, is a small skipper butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It occurs across much of North America and uses grasses as larval food plants, with adults visiting flowers for nectar. The species is recognizable by its tawny to brown wings and the pale markings that vary between sexes and geographic forms.
