Mesolite

description Mesolite Overview

Mesolite is a hydrous sodium-calcium aluminosilicate mineral in the zeolite group. It commonly forms slender, needle-like or fibrous crystals in cavities and fractures of volcanic rocks, especially basalt. Mesolite is closely related chemically and structurally to natrolite and scolecite, and specimens are often white or colorless. It is primarily valued by mineral collectors for its delicate crystal aggregates rather than as a commercial gemstone.
